In today’s world, dominance and ego seems to be the key to
assuring gainz are accomplished in the gym. No care about anyone else in the gym
besides your mindset. Yes, there is a certain mindset needed to accomplish a
great lift, however these levels don’t need to be elevated at all times. To
many times in the gym, I see “new lifters”
- Judged
- Made fun of
- Seeking help
- Seeking acceptance
- *Striving to start a new Lifestyl3*
Time and time again I see these new individuals devoted
their first day, lacking motivation on the second day, and by the third day,
they may as well appear on the T.V. show LOST. This happens more than it should because of the
misinterpretation of the gym scene and it NEEDS to be changed. When someone new
comes in, they should be welcomed with open arms as they are taking the first
step towards improving their life. Most of the time the normal gym goers make
it their full intentions to let these new comers know who is boss by lifting
their PR in search of dominance. This is why so many gyms are getting a bad rep
and why new gyms are becoming so popular because they offer “A judgment free
zone”. Don’t get me wrong, lifting heavy ass weights is what were there for,
however, shunning those who have never picked a weight up isn’t. We were all in
this place at one point in search of acceptance and hopes that one of the
alphas would us in as their own. So remember this the next time you see the
newcomer in the gym.
