Healthy Recipes that pack a POW

When starting off on this fitness journey of mine, I found it very difficult to give up many of the foods that I love. The need, want , and desire to have something sweet and doughy was always on my mind, thinking id never be able to touch a doughnut again, man was I WRONG! The fact of the matter is that theirs no food that will harm you by consuming it, just simply lacking nutrients that may come from an alternative. Just let that sink in........ This may be one of the best pieces of advice I've ever gotten from no one other than Eric Helms from Teams 3DMJ. I will dive more into this later on but for now lets get back to the flaky, warm, moist, sweet sensation of doughnuts.

Doughnuts were put on this planet by god to ultimately hinder your progress based on their ability to contain so many calories in  such a small volume. The easiest way to get over this hump?, find alternative recipes that provide the same flaky sweet sensation that pack less calories. This may be hard in a world where usually the healthy alternative taste nothing like the real thing, however this is where Spencer Miller, aka the sweets god, comes in. Spencer is the author and chef from the great recipe blog, Macro Chef.

On this blog post you will find recipes that range from
- Cookie Dough Protein Brownie Bites
- Pumpkin Protein  French Toast Sticks
- Chocolate Avocado Protein Pudding
- Mixed Berry Protein Cake
- Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

The ingredients he incorporates as healthy alternatives always leaves me hesitant and time after time I am blown away by the flavor from the final result. One great example I can recall is when i made his Chocolate peanut butter fudge. The main ingredient was black beans....... now i know what your thinning and I was thinking the same thing, but i decided to role with it. The end result was INCREDIBLE!!! Everyone in my whole family absolutely loved them, asking just what was inside this delicate square. I eventually told them and everyone was beyond surprised that something you would typically find as a side to your burrito was able to bring such a good texture and sweetness.

Spencer's blog is full of great healthy recipes that i HIGHLY advise all of you to try and be your own critique, I can grantee it doesn't matter which recipe you choose, you will not be disappointed.
