SUPPLEMENT REVIEW: Myprotein Chocolate Nut

Protein protein protein every where we look. We see chocolate brownie over here and strawberry banana over there, all claiming to taste just like the real thing. Depending on what brand you go with and your source of liquid, most of the time, the flavor will have a somewhat close resemblance to the actual food alternative and other times you would prefer the 2 week old chicken breast in the back of your fridge for some protein. A very reputable and highly sought after company known as MYPROTEIN based in Europe is on the hot seat today.

Overall for the price, when on sale it can't be beat!! They seem to run specials everyday on their website ranging from BOGO sales to 25% off, and free products with every order. The company overall is stupendous, especially with customer service. Now lets get to the actual profile of the protein. Its your typical all whey protein blend that packs with it 20 grams of protein. Fats are just slightly higher than that of other powders, however this is what gives it the flavor there known for. Instead of adding in extra carbs to improve flavor, my protein simple adds a gram of fat which overall is a very smart move. By adding a gram of fat there only adding about 9 calories where as the others have to add 6 or so grams of carbs to acquire the same enjoyable taste which in turn ads around 24 calories.

This protein flavor doesn't dramatically change whether mixed in milk or water so I would opt to just stick with water. Overall the flavor is suppose to be related to a hazelnut similar to Nutella as described by the company. I didn't quiet get the same flavor profile but instead explain my experience as a chocolate smoked nut. It definitely has the chocolate flavor but also a somewhat smokey nut taste that is slightly comparable to nutela but in my opinion isn't very similar.

Mixability is great overall as this powder seems to have a much more airy profile versus your typical protein powder. This is hard to explain but the protein in its room temperature state seems to be more of a consistency similar to that of baking flour, where as other protein powders follows a thicker coconut flour consistency. This has no effect on mixability or flavor.

Overall i would recommend this product to others just based on the fact of the great price and the over 30 flavor options!! You'll be sure to find at least one that intrigues your eye
Rating: 8.2/10
